Village of the Twins
Kodinhi, also known as the ‘Village of the Twins’, is a small village located in the Malappuram district of Kerala, India. The village has gained worldwide fame for its unusually high number of twin births, with over 400 sets of twins born in the village of 2000 families. This has led to Kodinhi being dubbed the “Twin Town” or “Twins Village” by the media.
The phenomenon of twin births in Kodinhi has been a topic of interest among researchers and medical experts for many years. Despite intensive studies, the exact reasons behind the high rate of twin births in the village remain unknown. However, researchers have suggested that the phenomenon could be due to a combination of genetic, environmental, and dietary factors.
