Account

How do I delete my account?

First, select the Account tab from the Profile dropdown menu. On the left under account settings, select Delete Account.


Admins and Moderators

How do I contact an Administrator?

Admins cannot be contacted directly like you would another member, but if you need assistance with any part of the site please use our Contact Us form.

Can I become an admin?

We are not looking for additional Admins at the moment, but if you feel that you’d be interested in the future, contact us and let us know a little bit about you.


Blog

How do I submit a blog post?

When signed in on mobile, click on the hamburger menu at the top left of your screen > select My Blog > New Post.

When signed in on the desktop, open your profile dropdown by clicking on your profile picture in the top right of the site page > select My Blog > New Post.

Additionally, you can find the New Post button under the Blog tab in your profile.

How can I edit my blog post?

To edit your blog post, first go to your Profile and select the Blog tab. Under this tab, you will see a list of your blog posts. Under each post, you have the ability to edit or delete the post.

Why can’t I see my blog post?

1. We hold your first 3 blog posts for moderation so they can be reviewed for violations of our site rules, after that, your post will be published directly. Admins will check for violations thereafter.

2. We have removed your post due to some violation(s) of our site rules. If this is the case you will be receiving an email notifying you of the issue.


Events

Who can add events?

Any member can submit their own events for review and posting.

What type of events can I post?

As with all postings on the site, please keep all events concentrated on the unexplained genre. For example, an event posting about a local band you know playing down the street on Saturday night will surely be removed. However, if said band were playing at a paranormal festival that we all need to know about, by all means, post the festival.


Forums

How do I create a new forum topic?

Currently, only admins can create new forums/topics, but you can use the Contact Us form to send us your suggestions.

What is thetruthunexplained.com?

thetruthunexplained.com is a social community much like Facebook but specifically geared toward those who have an interest in the unexplained (unexplained: Unexplained events, behavior, etc. are ones for which people do not know or understand …)

How much does a membership cost?

Membership is free, but if you like what we are doing, a donation to help us keep the site running is always appreciated.


Groups

Who can create a group?

Any member can create a new group, simply select the Create a Group link at the top of the groups main page.


Locations

Who can add locations?

Any member can submit their own location for review and posting.


Members

Why can’t I message another member?

Only connected members are allowed to message each other. Send a connection request if you want to be friends with someone. After another member accepts your connection request you will be able to message them.

How do I see what another member is posting?

If you would like to be updated on another member’s user activity, select Follow on that person’s profile. You do not have to be connected to see another member’s updates.


Site Rules

What happens if I violate a rule?

Site rules can be viewed here.

Site rule violations are handled based on severity. For example, If you submit a post that violates a rule you may be given a warning and a chance to correct the issue, however, should threaten the safety of another member in some manner, you will be immediately blocked from the site and possibly reported to the authorities.
