The Menehune are a race of dwarf creatures said to have resided in the forests of Hawaii long before the Polynesians arrived. Though they are small in size, standing at around two feet tall, they are known to be expert builders who have constructed fishponds, temples, and other structures with great precision and skill. There are many stories of their incredible feats of engineering, including the construction of the famous Alekoko Fishpond on Kauai.
Menehune enjoy playing pranks on people, stealing food, and causing general mischief whenever they can, however, they are also known for their helpfulness, and it is said that they often assist farmers with their work, particularly during the planting and harvesting seasons.
