Robert the Doll was created by a German toy maker named Steiff in the early 1900s. It was given to a young boy named Robert Eugene Otto as a gift by his grandfather. The doll, which was over three feet tall and dressed in a sailor suit, quickly became Robert’s favorite toy. He even gave it his name and took it everywhere he went.
However, strange things began to happen after Robert received the doll. The young boy would often talk to the doll, and some people claimed they heard the doll talking back. Neighbors and friends of the family reported seeing the doll move on its own and even change facial expressions.
As Robert grew older, the strange occurrences continued. He would blame the doll for causing mischief and even blamed it for some of his own misdeeds. Robert’s wife, Anne, also claimed that the doll was possessed and that she often heard it giggling and moving around the house.
After Robert’s death, the doll was given to the Fort East Martello Museum in Key West, Florida, where it remains to this day. Visitors to the museum can see the doll on display, but they are warned not to take any pictures without asking for permission. It is believed that those who take pictures of the doll without permission will be cursed.
